Our Ikerbasque Research Professor, Qi Zhang, was appointed visiting professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) this April. Zhang, who has an extensive research career in the field of functional materials for energy, received this important recognition during a visit by BCMaterials representatives to the university, with whom we maintain a significant research collaboration agreement.

Fuelium, a startup co-founded and scientifically advised by our Ikerbasque Research Associate Professor Juan Pablo Esquivel, has been honored as the Most Circular Basque Startup at the Basque Circular Summit, which took place from April 2 to 4 in Bilbao.

We would like to congratulate our Marie Curie postdoctoral researcher, Maibelin Rosales, for being selected as one of the 118 researchers recognized in the Periodic Table of Chilean Female Scientists. The table has been created by the Legislative Bulletin of Women and Gender of the Library of the Chilean National Congress.

Itziar Oyarzabal, BCMaterials scientist, has been one of the researchers recognised by Ikerbasque - Basque Foundation for Science in its annual awards for outstanding scientists. Oyarzabal, Ikerbasque Research Fellow at our centre, has received a special mention along with four other young researchers: Ana Beloqui Elizazu, Amaia Arranz Mendiguren, Jone Mitxelena Sánchez and Marina Kalashikova.

Nine BCMaterials researchers are on the 'Ranking of the World Scientists: World's Top 2% Scientists' list published annually by Stanford University in the United States.

This ranking, considered the most prestigious in the world in its specialty, reflects the names of the most cited researchers internationally and especially takes into account the impact of the scientific publications in which they publish and are cited.

Five BCMaterials researchers have won the extraordinary doctoral prizes awarded by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). This is a recognition of great value, which speaks of the excellent work of our researchers.

Juan Pablo Esquivel, Ikerbasque Research Associate at BCMaterials, received, together with the rest of the advisory board of the start-up Fuelium, one of the four "Best in Class" awards with which the Expoquimia fair in Barcelona recognized projects with a highly disruptive profile and business transformation.
