Sara Martín and Stefano Lunghi Join BCMaterials as New Researchers

BCMaterials is pleased to welcome two new members to its research team: Sara Martín Iglesias, a postdoctoral researcher in the Active and Smart Materials research line, and Stefano Lunghi, a predoctoral researcher in the field of Micro and Nano-structured Materials.

Dr. Sara Martín Iglesias has a longstanding connection with BCMaterials, where she previously worked as a predoctoral researcher. She earned her PhD in 2025 with a thesis in Biomedical Research entitled “Mechanisms Regulating the Cell Response to the Surface Electric Potential of Biomaterials.” She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of León (2017) and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Biotechnology from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2019). In her new role, Dr. Martín Iglesias will focus on tissue regeneration using biodegradable materials.

Stefano Lunghi joins BCMaterials after completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in New Materials at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy). His academic background is centered on nanotechnology and spectroscopy. At BCMaterials, he will work on the development of a technique known as bubble printing, used for the synthesis of materials from nanoparticles. The advancement of this technique will enable the high-precision printing of sensors with micrometric control through a cost-effective and highly scalable methodology.
