Karolina Zofia Milowska joins BCMaterials
BCMaterials is pleased to welcome Karolina Zofia Milowska, who joins the centre as an Ikerbasque Research Fellow and Ramón y Cajal Fellow. She holds a PhD in Physical Sciences from the University of Warsaw and has developed an outstanding international career at institutions including Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the University of Cambridge and CIC nanoGUNE. Her career has been recognised with several distinctions, including the R3 certificate from the Spanish State Research Agency and the Venia Docendi qualification from the University of the Basque Country.
Her research focuses on condensed matter physics, quantum chemistry and computational materials science. Using advanced multiscale modelling techniques, she studies the mechanical, optoelectronic and transport properties of carbon nanotubes, two-dimensional materials, hybrid perovskites and composites.
At BCMaterials, she will apply this expertise to the development of new solutions for sustainable energy, nanoelectronics and space-related applications. Milowska will work within the Computational Science Group of our center.
