Esraa Sewlam and Lía Campos, New Doctors of BCMaterials
We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to pre-doctoral researchers Esraa Sewlam and Lía Campos Arias for obtaining their PhDs in Materials Science and Technology from the UPV/EHU.
Sewlam defended her thesis on March 11. She did a brilliant job presenting “Unraveling the Power of Gold Nanostars From the Synthesis of Ultrasmall and Multicomponent Nanostars to Their Use in Advanced Applications.” The thesis was directed by Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez and Javier Reguera, with the support of Fernando Plazaola from the UPV/EHU Department of Electricity and Electronics.

A day later, Lía Campos defended her thesis entitled “Development of electrically conductive nanocomposites for flexible and conformable printable electronics.” José Luis Vilas, from the Department of Physical Chemistry at the UPV/EHU, and Nikola Perinka, from BCMaterials, supervised Lía Campos's thesis.
We at our center congratulate these two scientists on the outstanding achievement, as they have carried out excellent work as BCMaterials predoctoral researchers.
