Thirteen BCMaterials Researchers Among Spain’s Most Influential Scientists
Thirteen researchers affiliated with BCMaterials have been included in the latest edition of the Ranking of Spanish and Women Researchers in Spain, compiled by the Cybermetrics Lab of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The ranking evaluates more than 12,000 researchers based on scientific impact indicators, including the h-index and citation counts, using data from Google Scholar and OpenAlex profiles linked to ORCID.
Among those recognised are five members of BCMaterials' research staff: Carmen Rial, Itziar Oyarzabal, Anna Sinelschikova, Reyes Calvo, and Maibelín Rosales. They are joined by eight researchers affiliated with the centre who also hold prominent positions in the ranking: Lourdes Basabe, Leyre Pérez, Leire Ruiz, María Luisa Fernández Gubieda, Maite Insausti, Gotzone Barandika, Patricia Lázpita, and other collaborating scientists associated with BCMaterials. Notably, 46% of our researchers included in the ranking are positioned among the top 5,000 scientists in Spain, with presence within the top 500.
We warmly congratulate all the researchers recognised in this prestigious ranking. Their achievements are a testament to the talent, dedication, and impact of the scientific work carried out at BCMaterials and contribute significantly to advancing the field of materials science. This recognition is a source of great pride for our institution and further reinforces our commitment to excellence in research and innovation.
