Davide Spirito, New Ramón y Cajal fellow researcher

We welcome Dr. Davide Spirito, who recently joined BCMaterials as a Ramón y Cajal fellow. Dr. Spirito got his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from Roma Tre university in 2012. Since then, his multidisciplinary background comprises topics in the field of semiconductors, spectroscopy, nanomaterials, nanofabrication, energy harvesting and the development of optoelectronic devices. He has worked at internationally recognized institutions first as post-doc in Italy at CNR-NANO (Pisa) and Italian Institute of Technology (Genoa) and afterwards as scientist in Germany at IHP - Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics (Frankfurt/Oder).
At BCMaterials, he will develop a research line on innovative materials for thermoelectrics, an area of increasing scientific and technological interest for energy harvesting, energy management and sensing, where materials with high performance and economically viable supply and process are needed. Leveraging the expertise of BCMaterials, Dr. Spirito aims to identify materials with potential efficiency and suitability for sustainable large-scale processing or the development of new device concepts.
