Invited Talk by Giuseppina Pace on Triboelectric Nanogenerators (September 24)
Next Thursday, September 24, Giuseppina Pace, researcher at the Institute of Microelectronics and Microsystems of the National Research Council of Italy (IMM-CNR) in Milan, will give an invited lecture at BCMaterials entitled 'Enhancing Power Output of Triboelectric Nanogenerators through Electrode Engineering and Materials Integration'. The lecture will take place in the auditorium of the Martina Casiano building, home to BCMaterials, on the University of the Basque Country's science campus in Leioa, starting at 11 AM.
The lecture will address strategies to boost the power output of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), a low-cost and sustainable technology capable of converting widely dispersed mechanical energy into electricity. The speaker will present her research on the role of electrode work function and capacitance, as well as the engineering of the interface between the triboelectric material and the electrode through doped graphene and 2D transition-metal dichalcogenides. The talk will also cover the design of novel hydrogels for integration into TENG-based tactile sensors and e-skin, aiming to advance self-powered, sustainable and biocompatible electronic devices.
About the Speaker
Giuseppina Pace has been a senior researcher at the Institute of Microelectronics and Microsystems of the National Research Council of Italy (IMM-CNR) since 2019. She graduated from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and received her PhD from the Université Louis Pasteur de Strasbourg (France). She then continued her research at the University of Cambridge (UK) as a research associate, before returning to Italy in 2012 to work at the Italian Institute of Technology. She has long experience in the multidisciplinary field of organic and flexible electronics and energy harvesters. Her work focuses mainly on the physical chemistry of materials and devices, and on the engineering of sustainable electronic devices.
