Nuevos materiales magnéticos con aplicaciones biomédicas
José Manuel Barandiarán, director de BCmaterials ha participado como ponente, dentro de las jornadas de Innovación “#Berripills” del Hospital Universitario Cruces, sobre la aplicación de las nanopartículas magnéticas en medicina. En la actualidad se está trabajando en aplicaciones avanzadas como:
- Contraste de imagen por Resonancia Magnética, debido a la capacidad de crear campos magnéticos que perturben la imagen.
- Separación celular gracias a cargarlas previamente de células magnéticas.
- Aplicación Terapéutica gracias a su capacidad de producir calor (hipertermia) para matar las células cancerígenas y de la entrega controlada de medicamentos, llevando el medicamento mediante imanes al punto exacto necesario.
