The Basque Minister for Science, Universities and Innovation Visits BCMaterials

On November 27, the Minister for Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque Government, Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias, visited the facilities of BCMaterials in Leioa. The goal of the visit was to show the Minister the important evolution of the centre in the research of new materials since its creation in 2012 until today, when it has more than one hundred people in its own staff, plus another 26 associated researchers freom UPV/EHU.
Pérez Iglesias toured our headquarters in the company of the deputy minister of the aforementioned department, Alfonso Morais, the scientific director of BCMaterials, Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez, and the general manager of the centre, Iñaki Serna.
During his visit, the Minister was informed of the main present and future plans of BCMaterials. He visited some of the centre's active laboratories (electronics, biotechnology and biomedicine, additive manufacturing…) and visited some of the new facilities that will be opened in the coming months. These labs will allow our researchers to carry out practically 100% of their work in our premises.
