Sheila Maíz, new Post-Doctoral Researcher
Sheila Maíz Fernández re-joined BCMaterials as Post-Doctoral Researcher. Sheila, who developed her PRe-Doctoral period working at this center, got her PhD in December 2021. She defended the thesis named "Development of in situ forming, polysaccharide-based self-healable and printable hydrogels for soft actuators and biomedical applications”.
Sheila will work in the new line of Neurobioscience, within the IKUR strategy, promoted and funded by theDepartment of Education of the Basque Government.Bruna Gonçalves, New Post-Doctoral Researcher at BCMaterials

BCMaterials welcomes two new visitors, who will be in our Center for the next three months: Levent Köroğlu and Fabio Rodrigues. Levent Köroğlu, who is visiting BCMaterials to develop his research on enhancing functional properties of polyvinylidene (PVDF) copolymers-based composites. Levent is a Research-Assistant at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Eskişehir Technical University, in Turkey. Fabio Rodrigues' research is about the development of 3D-printed scaffolds with patterned morphologies for tissue engineering and cells regeneration applications.
BCMaterials to organize "Women + Science = A Journey Through Time"
BCMaterials, the Basque Center on Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, presents "Women + Science = A Journey Through Time", an initiative that is part of the International Week of Women and Girls in Science. This event will be held on February 10 and 11 and will bring together students from different schools in Bizkaia (Basyqe Country).
