Invited Lecture by Liu Yao on Lithium-Metal Batteries (December 2)

Next Monday, December 2, Liu Yao, professor at the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, will give an invited lecture at BCMaterials entitled ‘Li-Metal Batteries: From Liquid to Solid-State’. The lecture will take place in the auditorium of the Martina Casiano building, home to BCMaterials, on the University of the Basque Country's science campus in Leioa, starting at 11:00 AM.

Water Remediation and Clean Batteries at EHU’s Science Week

BCMaterials once again played a prominent role at the University of the Basque Country’s (EHU) Science Week, held from November 5–9. Our center took part throughout all five days of the largest science outreach event in the Basque Country.

Hundreds of visitors—from school groups to families—stopped by our science corner, where we showcased the potential of new materials for environmental remediation and sustainable energy generation through five hands-on demonstrations.

Invited Talk with Karolina Milowska (November 6)

BCMaterials continues its series of invited scientific lectures with a talk by Dr. Karolina Milowska, Ikerbasque Research Fellow at CIC nanoGUNE. The talk will take place on November 6 at 12:00 PM in the auditorium of the Martina Casiano Building, BCMaterials headquarters.

Dr. Milowska will present a lecture titled “From Ultrahigh Magnetic Fields to Interface Engineering: A Multiscale Modelling Paradigm for Nanomaterials in Extreme Environments.”

‘BeZientzia’: 200 Schoolchildren Become Scientists for a Day

On October 28th and 29th, the ‘BeZientzia’ science fair took place in Bilbao, bringing together nearly 200 sixth-grade students from schools across Bizkaia. BCMaterials was one of the four organizing institutions, alongside Achucarro – Basque Center for Neuroscience, BC3 – Basque Center for Climate Change, and BCAM – Basque Center for Applied Mathematics. All four centers are part of the BERC (Basque Excellence Research Centers) network in Bizkaia.

Invited Talk with Akio Kimura (October 3)

BCMaterials is proud to host Akio Kimura, Professor at the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering of the Hiroshima University (Japan) in a new invited talk. The event will take place on October 3 at the auditorium of the Martina Casiano building, headquarters of BCMaterials. The talk is set to start at 12:00.

Prof. Kimura will present the talk titled: “Probing Electronic Structures of Heusler-type Metamagnetic Shape Memory Alloys by Synchrotron Spectroscopy”.
