New hard magnetic materials for permanent magnets applications
La charla se compondrá de una breve introducción en la que Cristina Echevarria hablará de su experiencia investigadora y a continuación mostrará algunos de los resultados obtenidos en BCMaterials en el proyecto europeo en el que se encuentra involucrada, sobre imanes permanentes, NOVAMAG. Estos materiales son compuestos con una estructura ThMn12 que, al contrario de los imanes ya conocidos de NdFeB, contienen una cantidad de Tierras Raras menor, 7% frente a 12%. Estas Tierras Raras han sido clasificadas recientemente como Materias Críticas, por lo que el objetivo es disminuir la cantidad de las mismas, intentando mantener unas propiedades magnéticas competitivas como para que estos materiales sean considerados para su escalado a la industria.
