BCMaterials collaborates with the outreach festival Pint of Science Bilbao 2023
BCMaterials is one of the collaborating entities with the Pint of Science 2023 science outreach festival. On May 22, 23 and 24, the event will bring some of the hottest current scientific topics to audiences of all ages through a program of 24 talks that will be held in 4 bars of the city.
With this collaboration, BCMaterials supports one of the most important scientific dissemination events at an international level, which takes place in almost 60 cities Spain and in another 25 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania.
A record edition in Bilbao
The Bilbao edition will break its own record for presentations and speakers, reaching 28. The talks, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. will take place in the following bars, each one devoted to a themed area:
- Geuria! San Mames. (San Mamés Stadium. Gate 14). Atoms to galaxies.
- Hika Ateneo. (Eskola Zumarkalea, 1 (Ibeni Pier - San Antón). Beautiful mind and Our body.
- Kubrick Bar. (Villarías, 2. Uribitarte Dock) Planet Earth.
- Crazy Horse. (Avenida de las Universidades, 5) Tech me out!
BCMaterials will also be present in the talks program with three researchers belonging to our center. José María Porro will open the section ‘Atoms to galaxies’ on May 22 with his talk "Illuminating the materials science with neutrons" (Geuria! San Mamés). Ander Reizabal and Paula González will present "Printing the Future" on May 24 at the Crazy Horse bar.
A great panel of speakers
Along with the BCMaterials researchers, leading scientists from some of the most important academic and research centers in our territory will participateas well: UPV/EHU, University of Deusto, Biocruces, Azti, Instituto Biofisika, Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience, BC3 - Basque Center for Climate Change, BCAM – Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, and even Basque researchers at centers such as the Autonomous University of Madrid.
