Neutron scattering for structural characterization at nanoscale
Neutron scattering techniques are widely used for structural characterization of various kinds of objects. Thus, basic principles and description of neutron scattering methods (namely neutron reflectometry (NR) and small-angle neutron scattering (SANS)) for nanoscale characterization will be presented during the seminar. SANS and NR are actively applied for structural investigations of the planar and developed interfaces at nanoscale size. In particulary, the real examples and possibilities of NR and SANS for structural characterization will be shown for:- Magnetic fluids in the bulk and at the interfaces;
- Bio-macromolecules and complex solutions with nanopartciles;
- Electrochemical interfaces in situ;
- Surfactants and polymer solutions.
