Paula Rodríguez and Sara Martín, New PhDs from BCMaterials
On October 23 and 24, two predoctoral researchers from BCMaterials successfully defended their PhD theses at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU): Paula Rodríguez Lejarraga and Sara Martín Iglesias. We warmly congratulate both of them for their outstanding work and this important milestone in their research careers.
Paula Rodríguez obtained her PhD within the Molecular Biology and Biomedicine doctoral program with a thesis entitled “Tailoring electroactive biomaterial–protein interfaces and interactions to drive cell behavior.” Her work was supervised by Ikerbasque researchers Viktor Petrenko from BCMaterials and Marité Cárdenas from Instituto Biofisika.
Sara Martín, in turn, defended her thesis “Mechanisms regulating the cell response to the surface electric potential of biomaterials” to earn her PhD in Biomedical Research. Her research was supervised by Ikerbasque researchers Unai Silván and Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez, both from BCMaterials.
