Fortnightly seminars: Two-dimensional Transition Metal Dichalcogenides as Charge Transporting Layers for High Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells by Dr. Peng Huang

Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells have attracted plenty of attention due to the merits of high power conversion efficiency (PCE)(over 25%), solution-processability and low fabrication cost and so on, but the toxicity of lead in perovskite active layer and stability issues of perovskite and devices are the most critical obstacles in the commercialization of this technology. To improve device stability, we have successfully applied 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) as charge-transporting layers into perovskite solar cells. However, the drawback of 2D TMDs such as poor film-forming ability limited their broad application in opto-electrical devices such as solar cells, LED, photodetectors, and FETs, etc.
In the seminar, I will introduce perovskite solar cells and 2D TMD materials briefly, summarize previous research results about 2D TMD-based perovskite solar cells and show my next two-years research plan (funded by MSCA-IF-2019) to optimize 2D TMDs materials properties and promote their application in opto-electrical devices.
The seminar will be held on Martina Casiano auditorium until complete de permitted capacity (35 people). It is important to follow the COVID rules (wear a mask, clean hands with sanitizer, keep distances between attendants) You can also follow it in streaming using TEAMS with the next link:
