Conductive MOFs: New design strategies and applications
Electrically conductive MOFs are a new class of materials that present unique combinations of properties. In this short talk I will briefly introduce the topic and discuss our work regarding two different typologies of materials in this field. The first concerns 3D conductivity through delocalized bonds, a novel concept for conductive MOFs, and the synthetic challenges in obtaining these materials. The second, and a more applicative, project regards the redox tunability of electroactive MOFs and their possible application in quasi solid-state Li-S batteries as host for the sulfur in the cathode and how these materials can overcome the limitations currently related with this application.
The seminar will be online due to COVID restrictions.
