BCMaterials invited talk: Carlos Martí-Gastaldo
Carlos Martí-Gastaldo from the Molecular Science Institute of the Valencia University will talk about "Peptide Metal-Organic Frameworks by sidechain engineering" Oligopeptides have recently emerged as naturally occurring linkers for the design of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) provided their multiple coordination modes, torsional adaptability and chirality. The use of peptide struts provides unprecedented guest adaptability, modulation of the framework’s flexibility and control over its chemical and mechanical stabilities triggered by suitable choice of the amino acids in the peptidic sequence. I will review recent advances in the design of peptide-based porous materials with key focus on how chemical engineering of the peptide sidechain renders control over their structural flexibility, stability, chemical function and accessible porosity. carlos1 [1] Rabone, Y.
