BCMaterials Participates in the Reforest 4.0 Project
The kick-off meeting of the Revalorization of forest waste for agriculture 4.0 (Reforest 4.0) project took place in November. This project is funded by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. BCMaterials is part of the consortium together with Labpaper Tolosa, CIFP Don Bosco, Malerreka Common Zerbitzuak and Salesianos Pamplona.
The main objective of Reforest 4.0 is to generate and transfer knowledge about obtaining cellulose from forest waste for the manufacture of smart packaging for the primary sector. BCMaterials will contribute with the development of printed sensors based on sustainable functional inks to obtain information on different parameters (temperature, humidity, etc.). Forest waste will be obtained mainly from forest clearing and gardening, thus offering an opportunity to reuse and revalue said waste.
A very important aspect of the project is the work that will be carried out to promote entrepreneurship and job placement for people at risk of exclusion and students in vocational training cycles. These goals are part of several of the six work lines, which also include the development of professional skills linked to digitalisation, the promotion of women's access to vocational training profiles related to STEAM qualifications and the creation of structures to promote entrepreneurial skills, among others.
