BCMaterials is organizing a Symposium at the EMRS Spring Meeting from 25th to 29th of March, devoted to academic and industrial partners working on the substitution and recycling of critical raw materials (CRMs) in electronic, magnetic and energy harvesting devices. The symposium provides an interdisciplinary and intersectorial platform to discuss about CRM alternatives from the modelling, synthesis, characterization, processing and device integration viewpoints.

El pasado 19 de diciembre, el Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, junto con la consejera de Educación Cristina Uriarte y la rectora de la UPV/EHU Nekane Balluerka, ha visitado esta mañana la nueva sede del centro de investigación de excelencia BCMaterials -Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, en el Parque Científico de la UPV/EHU, en Leioa.

Invited talk on piezo- and magnetoelectric materials and poster presentations on Li-ion batteries and point-of-care devices at the Fall MRS Meeting in Boston, US. Great time in a great meeting!

And the best poster award goes to…… A. Valverde, R. Fernandez de Luis, R. Gonçalves, M. M. Silva, A. Fidalgo, C. M. Costa and S, Lanceros-Mendez for innovation in battery  separator membranes based on MOF´S! Congratulations!...in the week in which the work on Lithium-ion batteries was awarded with the Nobel prize!

Lanceros-Mendez has given an invited talk in the area of printed batteries at the International Conference Mission 10000: Batteries, International Nanotechnology Laboratory. The perfect event for meeting friends and colleagues, discussing future research plans, great innovation and success…..
