BCMaterials has presented its 2023 Annual Activity Report. The document includes the highlights of the center's scientific activity during the past year, which continues on an upward trajectory in terms of the number and impact of publications, as well as the quantity and entity of the ongoing research projects. Last year BCMaterials had 65 ongoing projects with European, Spanish and Basque funding. Three of them were new important European projects.

BCMaterials researcher Dr. Carmen Rial has been selected, along with Prof. Dr. M. Mounir Bou-Ali from the University of Mondragon (Spain), as Guest Editor for the special issue of Polymers (ISSN 2073-4360) titled “Conductive and Magnetic Properties of Polymer Nanocomposites”.

The Chemical Record, a journal of the Chemical Society of Japan, has published the Special Issue ‘Chemistry in Ukraine’, coordinated by the Ikerbasque Research Professor Stefan Wuttke in collaboration with important Ukranian scientists from different academical institutions.

BCMaterials researcher Dr. Daniel Salazar is one of the guest editors of a special issue in ‘Thermal Science and Engineering Progress’ journal. The special issue is called “Additive Manufacturing of Heat Transfer Materials and Applications”. This special issue aims to explore the synergy between cutting-edge technology, the latest research, innovations, and practical applications in the rapidly evolving field: additive manufacturing and heat transfer science.

BCMaterials researcher Dr. Daniel Salazar is one of the guest editors of a special issue in Sustainable Materials and Technologies (SM&T) journal. The special issue is called “Advanced sustainable materials for energy applications (Advanced sustainable mat)”. It is devoted to academic and industrial partners working on the substitution and recycling of critical raw materials (CRMs) as well as on the implementation of green synthesis and processes in electronic, magnetic and energy harvesting devices.

BCMaterials presents its Annual Activities Report for the year 2022. The document contains the data referring to the results of the research work of the center, both in terms of publications and projects. Likewise, it includes summaries of some of the most representative articles with the greatest impact, both by areas and by lines of research.

BCMaterials has participated as co-editor of a new book: 'Sustainable Energy Storage in the Scope of Circular Economy: Advanced Materials and Device Design'. Our scientific director, Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez, is one of the three editors of the volume, together with Carlos Miguel Costa and Renato Gonçalves, researchers from the University of Minho.
