NanoSeminar Series 2016 in Dresden University
Prof. Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez from the Department of Physics of University of Minho and BCMaterials member will talk about “Smart and functional polymer based materials for environmental, biomedical and energy applications” on thursday, 7th of april in the Seminar Room 115, Hallwachsstr. 3 (HAL) of Dresden University (Technische Universität Drescen). The speach will be at 13:00 and it will last an hour. Abstract: Smart and functional polymers and polymer composites offer large application potential in areas such as sensors and actuators, energy generation and storage, filtration membranes and biomedical applications, among others. The successful development of applications rely both in the ability to proper tailor polymer properties, including microstructure, crystallinity and phase, and/or in the suitable choice of micro and nanofillers. An overview of the main challenges, strategies and results in the development of specific materials will be shown, together with some of their most interesting applications.
