INDESMOF Kick-off meeting

Tuesday, 17 April 2018 by

The kick off meeting of INDESMOF RISE-MCSA European Project will be held at the BCMaterials on April 20th, 2018. During the Kick-off meeting the technical, administrative and scientific parts of the project will be disused.

Manu Barandiaran , former director of BCMaterials, was on past week at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines – CNRS, talking about Magnetic Materials research at BCMaterials. Magnetic shape memory alloys (MSMAs), such as the Heusler compound Ni2MnGa and off-stoichiometric alloys, couple the martensitic transformation (MT) with ferromagnetism, enabling outstanding effects like magnetically induced strains, up to

Registration for the event “Future Perspectives on Novel Magnetic Materials”, which will take place from May 29 to June 3 at the Santorini Palace Hotel in Oia Santorini, is now open. For more information consult the web www.inapem.eu/santorini-workshop/ where the program is and you can register.

Senentxu Lanceros-Mendez, Ikerbaske Professor and Scientific Director of the Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures is co-editor of the book “Printed Batteries: Materials, Technologies and Applications” Wiley, ISBN: 978-1-119-28742-1, offering the first comprehensive account of this interesting and growing research field. Printed Batteries: Materials, Technologies and Applications reviews the current state of the art

The paper is named “Probing Structural and Magnetic Instabilities and Hysteresis in Heuslers by Density Functional Theory Calculations” written by  Volodymyr A. Chernenko, Jose M. Barandiaran and colleagues is the cover page of the February  edition of “Physica Status Solidi B”. “In their Feature Article (article no. 1700296), Entel et al. consider structural martensitic transformations

An investigation from BCMaterials, together with colleagues from the University of Minho, Portugal and the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, has been highlighted as journal cover in the journal Global Challenges, as a new approach in water decontamination. The contribution “Reusable Photocatalytic Optical Fibers for Underground, Deep-Sea, and Turbid Water Remediation” (DOI: 10.1002/gch2.201700124) shows the

A paper from BCMaterials “Electroactive poly(vinylidene fluoride)-based structures for advanced applications” has been published in Nature Protocols (doi:10.1038/nprot.2017.157). In this work the different ways to process this important polymer in its electroactive phase and in the most different microstructures and shapes are presented. This work is relevant for the development of electroactive structures that have

BCMaterials at Imaginenano

Friday, 16 March 2018 by

From the 13th to the 15th of March, the 4th edition of Imaginenano took place at the Bilbao Exibition Center (BEC). Thanks to the UPV/EHU, to whom we show our gratitude, BCMaterials was present in the event with a promotional video and a poster, showing our efforts in the different fields of materials science in
